Something I Use Every Day - My Pen Case by Joan Tavolott

I go out painting or sketching every day (with very few exceptions) so my pen case is something I use every day. I like having everything together where I can see it and use it easily. This has a back section that contains a water brush, pencil, eraser, mister, and a travel brush.

A brand new month - full of possibilities and a brand new theme to announce.

June's theme is "Something You Use Every Day", as suggested by Jean Bernick.

I hope the theme inspires you and that you interpret it and make it your own.

There are so many ways to interpret this theme. Here are a few ideas to get you started.
You might:
*Focus on your hand as I did - I use it every day for sure.
* Remember a favourite item you have used
* Focus on a favourite object you have inherited and still use.
*Open a cupboard and pull out a favourite item..
*Visit a thrift shop and discover a treasure in someone else's junk.

Whatever you choose to do this month, have fun. Please share your inspired artwork. Any medium can be used.

Favourite (Old) Artwork

In 2015, I created a number of small wtercolours, including the one above and below.

I've taken part in different challenges and they can be fun as well as a chance to try different techniques.
What challenges do you take part in??

Something Old in a Museum by Joan Tavolott

Here is a sketch that I did recently at the Museum of the American Indian in NYC when I was there with the NYC Urban Sketchers. The museum had some wonderful clothing and artifacts of different indian tribes.

Where I live and Old (two themes), Lynn Cohen

I'm catching up here and doubling up with place where I live (last months theme) and old. Our home I drew a few years ago I've been living in since we purchased it in 1988, so some might think it is old. (this months theme).
Even older than that is ME,  as seen in the selfie below. For some reason I must be tired because I refuse to sit upright. But that's okay. I think I old folks need more rest.

It's fun being here as an "author/artist" now that this is Bev's blog! Wishing everyone a very Creative Week ahead.

Something Old

I hope this fits in the Something Old theme.  I've been looking through the vaults as it were, and came across a painting I did a while back.  Thought it would be nice to give it the light of day here on the blog....

An Intro to Bev Baird

Thanks Ann and Lynn for your lovely welcome.
I look forward to joining Paper, Pen Plus as the new admin and being part of a talented group of artists.

I am a retired elementary teacher, with an interest in art and writing.
I especially enjoy watercolour, collage and mixed media.

My plan is to spend the next month getting to know as many of you as possible and learning what you would like to see here.

The theme for May is "Something Old" and will run for the month.

Ann and Lynn have made some suggestions and as I feel my way around here, I will let you know what I hope to do.

Please contact me thru my gmail or leave a comment below. All and any suggestions are most welcome!

Thanks everyone!
