An Intro to Bev Baird

Thanks Ann and Lynn for your lovely welcome.
I look forward to joining Paper, Pen Plus as the new admin and being part of a talented group of artists.

I am a retired elementary teacher, with an interest in art and writing.
I especially enjoy watercolour, collage and mixed media.

My plan is to spend the next month getting to know as many of you as possible and learning what you would like to see here.

The theme for May is "Something Old" and will run for the month.

Ann and Lynn have made some suggestions and as I feel my way around here, I will let you know what I hope to do.

Please contact me thru my gmail or leave a comment below. All and any suggestions are most welcome!

Thanks everyone!

Suez Street viewpoint, by Elaine (jaguarish)

I've recently become fascinated by the view down the street from my house and actually did a whole bunch of them.

This is a vista looking down the hill, mostly about the giant cloud that was dominating the sky that day.

And some bits, in order of left to right as I look at the house on the opposite corner... I had a half-idea that I could design some motifs, similar to Nordic folk patterns (but didn't quite complete my thoughts on that).

Spring Flowers - Peach Blossoms - Martha Kisling

Hi everyone - I just joined your group and am excited to be a part of it. I mostly paint in watercolor but also experiment some with mixed media and collage. I LOVE to paint flowers and we live in beautiful Tennessee where the fruit trees are all starting to blossom. I seem to paint a lot of pink flowers so I forced myself to head more towards a peach color with a turquoise background.

Spring Flowers - By Arnoldo L. Romero

It's been a while since I've posted, but I just completed this page in my art journal last weekend, and it fits the theme.  The quote is attributed to Mandy Hale on some websites, but may be anonymous according to other websites.  Anyway, it reads, "Trust the wait.  Embrace the uncertainty.  Enjoy the beauty of becoming.  When nothing is certain, anything is possible."  Blessings!

I need some Spring color, so I bought these primroses at the Super market last week. This is  done with watercolor pencils.

Flowers, Balmoral Cemetery

2017-03-12 Balmoral Cemetery

I know this is probably not what most of you think of as "spring flowers" but I had the chance to stop over in this old cemetery on the weekend, after driving past it several times for the last year or so and wishing I had a chance to take a look. I do love the carvings and statues, although it can be sad to read the inscriptions sometimes.
